IC-Saison 2024/25: Irchel 2 in der 3. Liga, Gruppe BVRZ-33

The match kicked off with the men's doubles (Simon & Leo) and women's doubles (Denise & Erika), both teams securing straight-set victories.

In men's singles, Tom made his season debut in HE3 and won convincingly in two straight games. Leo, playing HE2, fought through a tough three-setter but managed to take the final set with ease. Simon stepped up for HE1, battling through three close sets but narrowly lost with a score of 19-21 to a strong opponent.

In the women's singles, Denise seemed poised for victory but after a gripping three-set match, she fell just short with a tight 22-24 finish.

The mixed doubles match, featuring Erika and Tom, also stretched to three games. After dropping the first set, the pair bounced back to win the second 22-20 and cruised to victory in the decider, securing a solid win.

Overall, it was a day of intense competition and great teamwork, with several matches going the distance!

Wir hatten eine tolle Erfahrung beim Spiel gegen das Team Stäfa, das uns herzlich empfangen hat. Die Begegnung begann mit den Doppeln.

Im Herrendoppel (Anil & Simon) setzten wir das erste Zeichen und sicherten uns einen souveränen Sieg in zwei klaren Sätzen. Im Damendoppel (Denise & Erika) ging es enger zu. Der zweite und dritte Satz waren hart umkämpft, aber Denise und Erika behielten die Nerven und holten den Sieg, was uns eine frühe 2:0-Führung einbrachte.

In den Herreneinzeln gewann Leo (HE3) mühelos in zwei Sätzen, ebenso wie Simon (HE2) und Anil (HE1), die beide mit starken Leistungen klare Siege einfuhren.

Im Dameneinzel hatte Denise mit ihren Rückhänden zu kämpfen. Nach dem Gewinn des ersten Satzes verlor sie den zweiten Satz knapp mit 23:25. Doch mit großer Entschlossenheit sicherte sie sich den dritten Satz, was die Führung des Teams auf 6:0 ausbaute.

Zum Abschluss spielten Mixed-Doppel (Leo & Erika) hervorragend zusammen und gewannen das letzte Spiel in zwei klaren Sätzen, wodurch das Team einen überzeugenden 7:0-Sieg einfuhr.

We had a great experience playing against Team Stäfa, who received us warmly. The match started with the doubles categories.

Men's Doubles (Anil & Simon) set the tone, securing a solid win in two straight sets. Meanwhile, Women's Doubles (Denise & Erika) was more closely contested, with both the second and third sets going down to the wire. Denise and Erika showed great composure to maintain their lead and clinch the match, giving us an early 2-0 lead.

In the Men’s Singles, Leo played HE3 and won comfortably in two straight sets, as did Simon (HE2) and Anil (HE1), each delivering strong performances to claim victories in straight sets.

Women's Singles was a bit more challenging for Denise, who struggled with her backhand returns. After winning the first set, she narrowly missed the second with a score of 23-25. However, with determination, she pulled off a win in the third set, pushing the team’s lead to 6-0.

To finish, Mixed Doubles (Leo & Erika) played superbly as a team, securing the final victory in two straight sets and giving the team a commanding 7-0 win.

Overall, a fantastic start to the away season!

What an exciting season it's been! Irchel 2 wrapped up the season with a good performance, finishing 3rd in the group.

A huge congratulations to Erster Zuricher BC 1, who secured the top spot – well played!

Every member of Irchel 2 team gave their best on the court, and the team's success is a collective effort and spirit of the squad. From thrilling rallies to decisive match wins, everyone played a part in getting us to where we finished.

A special shoutout to Johannes and Dario, who joined the team in the second half of the season. Their addition significantly bolstered our men's singles lineup, bringing strength and a new level of competitiveness to the court.

Also, a huge thank you to Dorianne, Mona, Wiebke, Agi, Mads and Jeremy for stepping in and helping out during the season.
